Myth #1 – Cougar Women Are Only Thinking About One Thing
This is a myth that definitely needs to be dispelled and thrown aside! It may be true with some couples, but in the end; there are many very healthy, successful relationships between older women and younger men. You can look them up; there are celebrity couples and regular couples alike who have successful marriages together.
The truth is this, younger men do not pursue older women just for a one night stand or just to have fun, they are actually highly attracted to woman who is of an older age; the reasons may vary; but it’s mostly because an older woman has many things a younger girl simply does not!
Myth #2 – Cougar Women are Always the Aggressors
Tons of people have this image in their head. There’s this woman who is sitting in the bar with her red dress, and walking up to a younger man and “hunting her prey”. It’s probably the name mostly that is misleading. As said before, there are many different types of women and there are different types of men of all ages. It would be like saying, that younger men are aggressors. This is true, in many cases, but there are still men that are shy and would rather have women approach them.
In actuality the younger man may have to be an aggressor in many situations, there’s a couple that I had the joy of witness, she was 37 and he was 25, he was crazy about her, thought she was the most beautiful thing in the world; but she wouldn’t consider dating him unless he pursued her for 6 months. Now they are celebrating 4 years together, marriage; pretty awesome story
Myth #3 – Older Women/Younger Men Relationships Are Short Flings
This is something else that needs to be scrapped. This myth is very untrue, as a general statement. It would be akin to saying “All Male, Female relationships are short lived”. Again it simply depends on the two people. Sometimes people are compatible, and other times the two people are on two ends of the spectrum; it depends.
Now there are some that are short flings and full of sexual energy, and there are some that have the best of both worlds.
Myth #4 – Cougar Women are Sugar Moms
As I said before, a lot of older women are very classy women who demand respect and believe that it’s a two way street. As said before, there are some who rather spend their money and time on more important things. They work hard for their money as well, so they aren’t just going to spend it on the first guy with a dynamite smile and ripped body. You have to have something more special and of more substance.
Is this trend still seen as taboo?
The trend of cougar dating has been seen as a trend in the past, but now it is not; there are many reasons behind this. It is kind of becoming the norm actually as 1/3 of older women are now dating younger men of at least 10 years younger than them. So the trend is actually increasing. It was seen as taboo back in the older days because it was simply not normal.
There are a lot more people in today’s world who have been educated and have had their minds opened up to more possibilities. So sure some people may see it as taboo but in actuality there is nothing morally wrong between two consenting adults in a mutual and healthy relationship; it now seems more like “common sense”; to be with someone that you love and who loves you as well.
With that being said, there are some men who are attracted to older women because it’s not seen as a norm. Older women have been seen as “off-limits” all of their lives, and now they are finally able to date them, it can be an exciting proposition.
Why is this trend increasing overtime?
Well many men love the thought of being able to date an older woman. As I said before, a lot of the younger men grew up admiring their teachers or older women in their lives. The since of knowledge, security, and leadership from these women was something they’ve always admired, but they were always too young so they weren’t able to date these women obviously.
However, when many of these men grow up and become leaders and very successful in their career, they still want a woman who possesses these same traits. And now they can; another thing with the experience is all the latest trends in beauty.
Women are simply more attractive today at a later age than they have been ever before. Whether it’s due to anti-aging creams and many advances in the medical industry for beauty, these women are looking more incredible each day. If a man can have a woman that’s beautiful, but who also possesses the many traits that only age and experience can teach, he’s going to pursue her!
This is the main reason why the trend is increasing in our society!
What are the chances of a successful relationship?
There are tons of women who believe that the younger man will simply leave her for a younger woman. But this is usually not the case, if a relationship does not work; it’s usually because the two personalities simply were not compatible or there were differences in the relationship.
In other words, these relationships are just like any other relationship. age is rarely a factor, and if the two approached each other in order to achieve a very meaningful and fruitful relationship; then they probably will; if the relationships was approached as a fling, then it will probably be a fling.
What do men see in an older woman?
The question is why younger men are attracted to older women. And yes we have stated before but we are also going to bring up some extra points that we didn’t in this article. One of the MAIN things that older men love in beautiful older women is that they have the looks, but they do not have the games that are usually associated with younger women.
Another thing is that a lot of older women are either through with their career or they are fully engrossed in them. They are very intelligent, they know what they want out of life and they know where they are headed because of their experience.
Men love this, they love a woman who can take control of her own life; not saying they are looking for a “mother” to take care of them out of the house, but rather just a very set, woman who doesn’t need a younger man in their life, but rather wants one.
Why do older women love the younger man?
There are many reasons why the older women would love to date the younger man; he is youthful, positive energy. Cougar women don’t just like any man though. There are many myths that they’ll date any man simply because he’s young. But that’s not true at all, there are a ton of younger men who simply do not meet up to the expectations, and then again there are.

A cougar women and cub men can catch each other at many different places. The bars is usually the first thought that comes to many people’s heads but to be honest, the bar scene isn’t necessarily the best option at all times for all people.
There are many women who do not like being around alcohol, loud music, or whatever comes associated with bars. Now there are quiet, calm bars as well, but there are many women who do not enjoy the bar scene.
And there are many women who love going outdoors, going partying, and being around friends, or just to meet other people, so the bar can be a great option.
The Supermarket
This can be rather iffy. There are many women who go to the supermarkets on the regular basis to shop for their families. For men who are trying to meet eligible women there, it may not always be 100% that they are single and ready for a relationship. Most married women do not go to the bars, many married women go to the supermarkets to shop and buy groceries. Not every woman who goes to the supermarket is going to do this, but there are a ton of women are going to.
If you are a man and you want to meet cougar women at the supermarket, you are going to have to approach a ton of women, I wouldn’t recommend it as an elite place to meet single women.
As far as women go, if you are an older woman and you go to the supermarket, there are probably going to be younger men who keep this in mind that you can be going because you are shopping for your family, so it may not be the best place to attract, although I’m sure there are many successful relationships that start from these places.
